Congratulations to Absegami FBLA - 31 members represented Gami at the NJ FBLA State Leadership Conference in Atlantic City over the last three days.
The Absegami team of Stephanie Ruales, Jatin Punjabi & Ria Patel started off the awards ceremony by clinching 1st Place in the traditional Battle of the Chapters competition - eliminating every other team in the first round.
The Absegami Chapter as a whole earned the following state awards:
the "Gold Seal Chapter Award,"
the "March of Dimes Fundraising Award,"
the "Higher with Attire Community Service Award,"
3rd Place in "Passport of Progress"
4th Place in the "Community Service Challenge"
and... Largest Southern Region High School Chapter
Fourteen Absegami students qualified to attend the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, GA this summer by placing in the Top 4 in their events:
- Sameera Hossain - 1st Place - Publication Design
- Shyna Kataria & Nidhi Patel - 1st Place - Graphic Design
- Mahi Patel & Ria Patel - 2nd Place - Introduction to Social Media Strategies
- Yuvika Patel - 3rd Place - Introduction to FBLA
- Ben Capp, Emerald Nieves & Leah Storr - 3rd Place - Digital Video Production
- Stephanie Ruales & Parth Shah - 3rd Place - Public Service Announcement
Additionally, the following students placed in the "Top 10" in their events and were recognized on stage at the event:
- Dhruv Somaiya & Parth Patel - Network Design
- Puja Gandhi - Public Speaking
- Jatin Punjabi - E-Business
- Sarah Miguel - Introduction to Public Speaking
Sameera Hossain was awarded a $1,000 scholarship for placing 3rd in the Statewide Scholarship competition, and Jatin Punjabi was installed as the 2023-2024 NJ FBLA Southern Region Vice President.
