Mr. Patrick O'Keefe
This 2025-26 school year is my eighth at Absegami. Prior to teaching as part of the Greater Egg community, I worked as the Instrumental Music teacher at Smithville School in Galloway for 9 years. I received my Bachelors in Music Education from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford, and have done graduate work at Boston University, The University of the Arts and, most recently, Rowan University. Other involvement prior coming to Absegami includes working for the Shawnee HS Marching Band, at Stockton University teaching lessons to music majors and minors, as well currently serving as the Past President of New Jersey Music Educators Association. I'm looking forward to a great year!
The Absegami Band program encompasses several performing ensembles, such as Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Marching Band, clubs, like our Tri-M Music Honor Society, as well as academic courses such as AP Music Theory and Piano Lab. All courses and groups are designed to provide a well rounded music education.
My classroom is open for zero period on B and C days, and can be used for one-on-one instruction, independent study, or group work. Many students utilize this time for event preparation as the year unfolds.
