Welcome to my page! My name is Mr. Biernbaum and I teach Honors U.S History 1 and AP US History here at Absegami High School. I am a 2020 graduate from Stockton University. This is my fifth year teaching overall but my third year here at Absegami. I am extremely excited to be here, and I'm looking forward to an excellent school year!
Honors U.S History 1
In U.S History 1 we start all the back at the first colonies in North America and get all the way to Reconstruction. Major topics include Native Americans, beginning colonies, French and Indian War, Revolutionary War, the Constitution, Slavery, Westward Expansion, Mexican American War, Civil War, and Reconstruction. In all of my classes I also try to incorporate current events throughout the year.
AP US History
AP U.S. History is an introductory college-level U.S. history course. Students cultivate their understanding of U.S. history from c. 1491 CE to the present through analyzing historical sources and learning to make connections and craft historical arguments as they explore concepts like American and national identity; work, exchange, and technology; geography and the environment; migration and settlement; politics and power; America in the world; American and regional culture; and social structures.
