REACH HISTORY COURSE DESCRIPTION:

R.E.A.C.H. (Realizing Educational and Career Hopes) – A Functional Life Skills Program This REACH program is designed to enable students with mild to moderate cognitive limitations to acquire academic and functional skills necessary for employment (in both supported and/or non supported settings) and independent living. The program curriculum promotes vocational competencies for those students who cannot incidentally learn these skills. Instruction of these skills is infused into daily content area material rather than being taught as separate instructional units. Program components will include direct instruction in English, Reading, Math, Social Studies, Science, Problem Solving, and Vocational Preparation.

WHAT IS THE POLICY ON LATE & INCOMPLETE WORK?

Regular attendance is absolutely essential for success in this class.

In-class work missed during an "excused" absence can receive full credit. For each day that you are excused, you have a day to make-up missing work (this does not include the review day immediately before a unit test).

A student will receive zero credit for any in-class work missed during "unexcused" absences.

WHAT MATERIALS WILL BE NEEDED?

A pen or pencil and paper are the only item each student is responsible for bringing to class each day!

Binders will provided to each student. Students are responsible for keeping binders neat and organized.
