Welcome to Culinary Arts at Absegami High School! Our program is designed to give you the foundational skills necessary for a successful career as a cook, baker, chef, caterer, food and beverage manager, or even an entrepreneur.

In Art of Cooking – Level 1, you’ll dive into the basics of culinary arts. You’ll learn essential skills in kitchen management, food safety and sanitation, basic cooking techniques, nutrition, and an introduction to baking. This hands-on course will set you up for success, giving you the practical experience and foundational knowledge to explore career opportunities in the food service industry.

In Creative Cuisine – Level 2, you’ll build on what you’ve learned, advancing your cooking techniques, experimenting with new flavors, and exploring a variety of cuisines. You’ll also continue to sharpen your food safety, preparation, baking, and nutrition skills. This level emphasizes teamwork, time management, and professionalism, all of which will prepare you for Honors Culinary and beyond.

I’m excited to guide you as you develop your culinary skills, create a professional portfolio, and prepare for future success. Get ready to challenge yourself and have fun in the kitchen!
