Principal: Dr. Jeri-Lynn Gatto
Dr. Jeri-Lynn Gatto graduated from Oakcrest High School in 1975 and returned to her alma mater as a social studies teacher in 1986. She attended Atlantic Community College following high school where she received an associate degree in medical technology, and worked in that field for eight years while studying Psychology as an undergraduate and pursuing teaching certification at Richard Stockton State College. As a classroom teacher, she taught Psychology, Advanced Placement US Government and US History for twelve years and was honored as Teacher of the Year in 1990. In 1998 Dr. Gatto attained a Master's Degree from Temple University in Social Studies Education and became the Supervisor of Social Studies and Performing Arts, a role that she loved and worked at for the next nine years. Dr. Gatto received a second Master's Degree in Educational Administration and principal certification from Widener University in 2004. In 2007 Dr. Gatto became the principal of Absegami High School and received her doctoral degree in Educational Administration from Widener University in 2008. With the commencement of the class of 2011, Dr. Gatto will celebrate her 25th year in the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District. She is grateful to have had the opportunity to work with countless talented and dedicated administrators, teachers and staff and considers herself extremely lucky to be profoundly affected and inspired by literally thousands of students who have crossed her path over her career.
In addition to spending her professional life with high school students who certainly make every day an adventure, she has been an adjunct instructor in the Teacher Education Program at Richard Stockton State College since 1990. Currently Dr. Gatto teaches Student Teaching Seminar in both the fall and spring semesters at Richard Stockton State College. Dr. Gatto enjoys attending the occasional concert (James Taylor is a favorite) with her daughter (OHS Class of '00) and son (OHS '09), rowing on Lake Lenape with friends, and reading on the beach.
Vice Principal: Gregory Goodwin
Vice Principal: Michael Wilbraham
Mr. Michael Wilbraham earned his graduated from Seton Hall University in 1987 with a degree in secondary education and comprehensive science certification. He completed his Masters work in 1997 with a degree in educational administration from Rowan University. He is currently enrolled at Wilmington University where he is completing his doctoral work in educational leadership.
Mr. Wilbraham taught science for five years at Buena Regional High School and then went to Ocean City High School to teach science for another five years. He then served as vice principal at Middle Township High School for two years before settling in at Absegami High School. He has served Absegami High School as vice principal since October of 1999.
As vice principal, Mr. Wilbraham’s duties include discipline for the freshman class and ½ of the sophomore class. He oversees Peer Mediation, Freshman Transition, Yearbook, and the Renaissance Program. He works extensively with the freshman through the Freshman Transition Program, Freshman Orientation and the Eighth Grade Shadowing Program. He is highly impressed with the diversity of the Absegami student body and the exceptional faculty.
When he is not being a vice principal, enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters and two foster sons. He enjoys working on projects in his yard or in the house.
Vice Principal: Brian Aron
Mr. Brian Aron graduated from Neshaminy High School (Langhorne, PA) in 1995. After graduating with degree in Secondary Education from East Stroudsburg University, he returned to the Neshaminy School District as a substitute Teacher. After working as a special education teacher in two high schools in the School District of Philadelphia, Mr. Aron relocated to New Jersey to work at Vineland High School North. He worked there for over six years as a special education teacher, Department Chairman, and finally as an Administrative Assistant.
Mr. Aron graduated from Rowan University in 2008 with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. He began working at Absegami High School in 2009 in the role of Vice Principal.
In addition to his professional career, Mr. Aron enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. Mr. Aron is an avid reader and ancient history buff.
