Review by Kelly Wischner

www.TeacherWeb.com   is a website teachers can use to communicate with students and parents.  You can put a variety of pages on it including:

  • A Calendar of important dates
  • Newsflash page (which contacts students and parents who input their email address or cell phone number whenever the Newsflash page is updated)
  • Important Links
  • Quiz/Test pages (the website will grade multiple choice tests for you and send you the results or you can make them self-tests so students can immediately see their results)
  • Weekly Plans (i.e. what is done in class each day, homework assigned, etc.)
  • Missed Work (you can attach files, notes, worksheets for absent students)
  • Your schedule
  • Your classroom policies

The website is very easy to use and update. You can have a few pages or a lot and can change the graphics. I have also found it useful because you can remove pages that are no longer necessary (i.e. a review page for a particular topic we are learning) but the page is not erased. I can add the page back next year when we get to the topic again.

Parents have also complimented me on the website especially when they use it to check whether or not their child has homework (because they always go home and say they don't have any.) It is also good when absent students (or their parents) complain they didn't know they missed something because I always point out that it was posted on the website.

This is my second year using it. It costs $27 dollars a year. If you visit the following link, you can visit my page and see what it looks like:
