Internet Safety Checklist
Never give out personal information such as your name, home address, school name, or telephone number in a chat room, blog or bulletin board.
Never write to someone who has made you feel uncomfortable, be careful of someone asks you to much information.
Never send a picture of yourself to someone you chat with on the computer without your parent's permission.
Tell your parents right away if you read anything on the Internet that makes you feel uncomfortable, scared, or threatened in any way.
Know that people you first "meet" online may not be who they seem to be. Someone who says that "she" is a "12-year-old girl" could really be a 50-year-old man.
If you want to meet with someone, Your parents need to be involved. Discuss it with them first. Never meet anyone yourself. Your parents should go with you. Arrange to meet in a public place like a mall. Have your parents talk with the parents of the other person.
Remember when you post something online in any kind of a blog, Web page or chatline, anyone can read what you post.
