Meg Gawalis

Ms. Gawalis began her career in education at Absegami High School in 1998. As a special education teacher, she taught biology in both the resource room and inclusion settings. Her involvement in various programs and extracurricular activities throughout her teaching career included student council advisor, homebound coordinator, peer transition advisor, and professional development committee member. Ms. Gawalis earned a Master of Arts in School Administration from Rowan University. She assumed the position of vice principal in July of 2006. As vice principal, her duties included student discipline, scheduling of standardized testing, a mentoring program for at-risk students, technology committee, and supervision of extracurricular activities. In January of 2009, Ms. Gawalis returned to the department in which she began her career and assumed the position of Supervisor of Special Education. In this role, Ms. Gawalis is responsible for the curriculum, instruction, teachers, assistants, budget, and scheduling of the special education department.
